Dvorak’s Prague 2017 - International Music Festival
The festival, which takes place in Prague from September 7th to 23rd, 2017, presents a tribute by top Czech and foreign artists to one of the greatest composers of all time - Antonín Dvořák.
This year's 10th edition of the festival will offer composer's top cantatas and oratories, thus works that combine the power of multiple human voices with the sound of a large orchestra and soloists. Visitors will enjoy Famous compositions such as Stabat Mater, Requiem, and Te Deum, as well as less known opuses, such as a cantata called the American Battalion (Americký prapor).
The festival gradually presents the work of Antonín Dvořák in its entirety, giving the audience an opportunity to discover not only his symphonies, which the most famous one, the New World (Novosvětská), it sure not be missed at this year's festival. It is one of the most played classical music pieces. It was premiered in 1893 in the Carnegie Hall in New York, and in 1969 on the Moon where it was brought by the astronaut Neil Armstrong. This year in an unusual interpretation of the ensemble Musica Florea, performed on original historical musical instruments.
