Prague is changing. Not on a whim, or because of bureaucratic paperwork. The goal is to ensure that the city streets aren’t like scorching hotplates during the summer. That rainwater doesn’t just disappear straight down the drain. That children have safer routes to school. That Prague doesn’t waste money on expensive energy. That things aren’t thrown away unnecessarily. That the landscape around Prague isn’t just a backdrop, but a living, vibrant part of the city.

PRAGUE CLIMATE PLAN 2030
That’s why we’re planting trees. We’re retaining water. We’re restoring streets and parks. We’re building our own sources of clean energy and insulating buildings. We’re boosting public transport. We’re giving things a second life. We’re supporting better farming on Prague’s fields.
We call this the Climate Plan. It was approved by Prague City Hall in 2021. Anyone can read it, including reports on what we’ve achieved so far.
WHY IS PRAGUE ADDRESSING CLIMATE?
Everyone knows that Prague has experienced two major floods over the past 25 years: a 500-year flood in 2002 and a 50-year flood in 2013. During the same period, the city has warmed rapidly and the number of tropical nights has nearly tripled.
The exhaust fumes from cars that are destroying the climate are being breathed in by Prague’s residents.
So for Prague, climate isn’t some distant issue. It concerns us here and now.
We believe everyone should start with themselves. And Prague wants to lead by example.
Quite simply, we want a Prague that will be a good place to live tomorrow as well.
On the following panels, you’ll see what has already been achieved: specific projects, real places, genuine results.
And plans for the future.
