Czech President Petr Pavel meets EP President Roberta Metsola symbolically at Václav Havel's Bench in Brussels
During his three-day official visit to Brussels (from 19 to 21 April 2023), the Czech President Petr Pavel, accompanied by his wife Eva, met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the Chairman of the Military Committee of the Alliance Rob Bauer. He met also with leaders of EU institutions in Brussels Charles Michel and Roberta Metsola.
The meeting with the President of the European Parliament was held symbolically at the Václav Havel's bench, where they recalled the important legacy that Havel left on his foreign scene with his value approach to politics. He then teamed up with the chairwoman of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who offered him a personal meeting in Prague in early May.
