The Closing Event of the Exhibition BIG THING
On Tuesday, September 24, 2024 the Delegation of Prague to the EU organised a closing event of the exhibition "Big Thing" created by the students and graduates of the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. The exhibition is part of the Brussels Design September Festival. The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the EU, Edita Hrdá, the Vice-Rector of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Jitka Šosová, and the Heads of the Product Design Studio D3 Michal Froněk and Jan Němeček.
The concept of the exhibition project is influenced by the focus of the school, which provides education in art, architecture and design. Thanks to a diverse range of disciplines, students have the opportunity to learn not only various technological and craft skills, but also think in an interdisciplinary context. Their work is not limited to the bubble of academic assignments, but has an overlap and reflects on issues that define our world.
In the opening speeches, Mrs. Jitka Šosová, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Development highlighted the optimistic direction of the exhibition which offers numerous ideas on how a small changes can help us live a little better. The closing event was accompanied by a special presentation by Michal Froněk and Jan Němeček, Heads of the Product Design Studio who presented each project and allowed the visitors to have a glimps to the process of it´s creation.
The visitors could enjoy Dj sets by Chris the Dancer.
