Prague will host wind orchestras from all over Europe

12.2.2019 — On the 15th and 16th of February 2019, the 21st annual of 'The International Festival of Wind Orchestras Prague' will take place in our capital.

19.12.2018 — The impressive music experience can be enjoyed at eleven concerts. The 20th anniversary of the festival will bring music and harmony to the various venues in the city: Rudolfinum, Obecní dům (Municipal House), Pražský hrad (Prague Castle), Novoměstská radnice (New Town Hall), Kongresové centrum (Prague Congress Centre) and the hall in the city of Mladá Boleslav. You will be able to enjoy the pleasure of various types of classical music from various eras, such as orchestral music, chamber music or recitals. The audience will hear some very famous pieces as well as interesting music titles rarely performed.

Individual Targetted Subsidies

15.8.2011 — Starting 1 November 2016, support for events in the field of culture and tourism is to be provided by the City of Prague through the applicable grant (subsidy) programmes (see section Grants), in justified cases it is possible to apply for support in the form of Individual Targetted Subsidies as per Section 10a (2) and (3) of Act No. 250/2000 Coll., on the budgetary rules of territorial budgets, as amended.

Prague Castle Grape Harvest

30.8.2017 — This year’s grape harvest will take place In the Royal Garden of the Prague Castle, on the weekend of September 16th and 17th, 2017. This traditional event is this year associated with the famous Slovenian architect Josip Plečnik whom in the 1920s and 30s modified the Prague Castle. This year we mark the 145th anniversary of his birth and 60th anniversary of his death.

Khamoro ('sun' in the Roma language) is the biggest and the most famous professional Roma festival in the world. It has been held in Prague since 1999.

Commemorate the First Defenestration of Prague

26.7.2019 — New Town Hall (Novoměstská radnice) and the Municipal District Prague 2 have prepared an interesting programme for the anniversary of the First Defenestration of Prague, from the 27th to the 31st of July. You can take part in guided tours, an open-air cinema in the New Town Hall courtyard and other events in Charles Square (Karlovo náměstí).

Women will compete for the European Cup in Judo

27.2.2019 — In the Arena Sparta Podvinný Mlýn in Vysočany in Prague, after two years, women will compete again in Judo for points to qualify for the Olympics at the European Open. The tournament is organised by the Czech Judo Union (Český svaz juda) and will take place on the 2nd of March 2019.
