The City of Prague Museum reopens Prague’s towers

17.5.2020 — If you enjoy looking at the city from a great height, you will be pleased to know that the City of Prague Museum is reopening the most popular Prague towers. The Czech capital city is also known as the City of a Hundred Spires ('Stověžatá Praha'). Only a few people know exactly how many towers there are in Prague; however, it is certainly over one hundred. In Prague, towers of all kinds are everywhere, even in the least expected places.

The opening of the summer tourist season at Prague Castle

8.5.2019 — On Saturday, the 11th of May, Prague Castle will officially open the summer tourist season. The seat of the Czech heads of state is on this day open to visitors completely for free. Apart from the opening of the summer season, the 100th anniversary of the Office of the President of the Republic will also be celebrated.

21 projects compete in climate change competition finals

16.8.2020 — The public voting for the Adapterra Awards competition has started. The competition aims to find the best ideas on how to prepare Czech cities, towns and landscapes for the effects of climate change, such as drought, rising temperatures and torrential rain. 21 projects have reached the final stage of the competition, five of which are from Prague. The public have until the end of September to choose the best projects in the Czech Republic tackling current challenges regarding climate change, such as creating green buildings and public spaces, cooling urban streets and returning water to the landscape.

24.2.2006 — Cenu Nejlepší hotel v ČR předal dnes v pražském Planetáriu hotelu Hilton Prague radní Bohumil Černý. V anketě TTG Travel Awards, vyhlašované každoročně odborným čtrnáctideníkem TTG Czech pro cestovní ruch, letos odborníci udělili celkem devatenáct cen. Ty dnes při příležitosti konání veletrhu Holiday World předali ministr pro místní rozvoj Radko Martínek, ředitel odboru kultury, památkové péče a cestovního ruchu pražského magistrátu Jan Kněžínek a další čestní hosté.

Goethe-Institut screening of a German drama

10.3.2020 — 'Greetings from Fukushima' is a German drama which will be screened on the 11th of March in the Goethe-Institut in Prague. The award-winning film deals with the consequences of a nuclear disaster and interpersonal relationships.

5.9.2019 — From the 6th to the 8th of September, Prague will host the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup finals. The series of top-class canoe slalom races will culminate at the artificial canoe slalom course in Troja, along with the Extreme Canoe Slalom CSLX World Championships 2019.

15.8.2019 — The padel tournament, International Padel Experience by Madison, will take place in Prague for the first time from the 16th to the 18th of August.

24.2.2020 — 'Náplavka', meaning riverbank, refers to the embankment of the Vltava River between Palacký Bridge and Railway Bridge in Prague 2, a place where farmers' markets have regularly been held for 11 years. Even though it is not the largest in the Czech capital city, the market is unsurpassed with its friendly, relaxed atmosphere, which is one of the reasons that it is one of the most popular markets in the city. The 2020 season started in February, and the market is held every Saturday.

European Heritage Days start in Prague

11.9.2020 — Every year, usually in early autumn, the doors of the most interesting monuments, buildings and other spaces of interest, many of which are normally inaccessible, open to the public as part of the European Heritage Days. Between the 12th and the 20th of September, visitors can see most of them for free.
