Míst pro bruslení postupně přibývá

5.10.2006 — Zhruba dvacet kilometrů tras vhodných pro in line bruslení je v tuto chvíli na území hlavního města. A v následujících letech budou rychle přibývat. Nyní se bruslí především v areálu Ladronka, v anglickém parku Královské obory ve Stromovce, na Letné, po „vltavské magistrále“ a také v areálu výstaviště v Letňanech. Na jaře příštího roku pak přibude úsek mezi Podolskou vodárnou a nádražím Zbraslav v rámci dokončeného spojení Komořany – Zbraslav.

Top dancers will gather in Hybernia Theatre

29.4.2019 — On the 30th of April 2019, the 33rd annual festival 'Mezinárodní týdny tance' (International Dance Weeks) will culminate in the Hybernia Theatre. For the first time, artists from all three Czech National Theatres will meet on one stage!

Smetana’s music to resonate from the Municipal House

23.10.2020 — Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) will perform Smetana's 'Má vlast' ('My Country') in Obecní dům (Municipal House) for Independent Czechoslovak State Day on the 28th of October. There will be no audience, but the concert will be streamed via the Prague Symphony Orchestra's YouTube channel so it can be seen live all over the world.

Latvian dancers in Prague

9.3.2020 — X10 Theatre will feature the Latvian dance performance 'Labrys' on the 10th of March, as part of the 'Spectaculare' festival. Two million people live in Latvia, and it currently has nine professional, and at least two hundred amateur and semi-professional, theatre groups. Unfortunately, Latvian theatre is not often shown in the Czech Republic, so theatregoers, especially those interested in dance theatre, should not miss this opportunity.

Live classical music concerts to celebrate Municipal House reopening

23.5.2020 — Prague Symphony Orchestra, also known as 'FOK', for 'Film-Opera-Koncert', is preparing the event 'Roušky se odkládají, salónky ožívají' ('Masks are put aside, halls are coming to life') in cooperation with the Municipal House. The event will make the reopening of the Municipal House a unique experience on the 25th of May from 6pm to 8pm. Halls that are usually accessible to the general public only on special occasions and with paid guided tours will come to life with free, short multi-genre concerts by Prague Symphony Orchestra's members.

Explore artificial intelligence with Richard Janeček’s art

20.1.2020 — Prague City Gallery hosts an exhibition of Richard Janeček's work entitled: 'I Think in an Ideal World, it Would Have Ended Very Differently'. The exhibition, which is a part of the gallery's 'Start Up' series dedicated to young artists, can be seen in Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace until the 2nd of February 2020.

Celebrate Prague Zoo’s anniversary

26.9.2020 — The 28th of September is the Day of Czech Statehood. In Prague Zoo, this day is traditionally dedicated to the zoo's anniversary. The reopening of the Hippopotamus Pavilion and the introduction of the male hippoTchéco will be the highlights of this year's celebration. However, in order to maintain social distancing and prevent large numbers of visitors indoors, this part of the event will be broadcasted on ČT24 in the morning and visitors will be able to visit the Hippo Pavilion over the course of the afternoon.

Beautiful but deadly Amazon poison dart frogs

16.9.2020 — Visitors to Prague Zoo can admire a collection of thirty species of poison dart frogs in the Gočár Houses Gallery until the end of October. Guided tours and workshops will take place throughout the exhibition. Poison dart frog is the common name for a group of frogs in the Dendrobatidae family which are native to tropical Central and South America. Despite their small size of only few centimetres, poison dart frogs are not only fascinating, but also truly deadly frogs. Only a fleeting touch of the frog can be fatal to a predator, and a tiny droplet of their poison can kill an animal the size of a horse. Moreover, these frogs do not excrete only one type of poison, but a mixture of several different toxic substances.

Lucerna Cinema features the best Italian films

28.11.2019 — For the seventh time, Mittel Cinema Fest 2019 will bring the finest films from the Apennine Peninsula to audiences in Prague. A total of eight Italian films, along with a concert of film music, will take place in the Lucerna Cinema from the 28th of November to the 4th of December.

Final farewell to Karel Gott

10.10.2019 — Up to 300,000 people are expected to come to Žofín Palace in Prague to pay their final respects to Karel Gott this Friday. Masarykovo Embankment, which is close to the venue, will be pedestrianised. The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will work with the police, the army and Prague City Hall for the smooth organisation of the event.

City of Prague acknowledges blood donors at Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) gala concert

30.9.2019 — The Czech capital wants to thank blood donors by inviting them to the first of three Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) concerts at the end of September. City representatives and representatives of the Czech Red Cross Regional Organisation (CRC) will also receive the Jánský Gold Medal, which is traditionally given to donors who give blood 40 times. Subsequent concerts are scheduled for February and May next year.

The fifth annual Flamenco Day will be held in Prague

20.11.2019 — From the 21st to the 24th of November, Prague will host the Flamenco Day festival. This time, the festival will commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of the death of the flamenco king Antonio Gades.
