29.6.2019 — The extensive reconstruction of the Negrelli Viaduct, the second oldest bridge in Prague, will be followed by the transformation of the bridge's surrounding area, including the space beneath it. According to the proposal recently approved by Prague City Council, a new creative space with cafes, a library, and/or a summer theatre space could be developed under the viaduct.

11.2.2019 — For almost 11 million CZK, Prague Castle Administration bought two paintings by the well-known Czech painter Kamil Lhoták (1912-1990). The paintings will be exhibited at the Picture Gallery at the 2nd Courtyard of Prague Castle until February 28th.

2.8.2021 — Rada hl. m. Prahy v pondělí schválila žádost o individuální účelovou neinvestiční dotaci na sportovně kulturní akci Mistrovství Evropy - Prague Open Dance Festival 2021. Konkrétně se jedná o částku 200 tisíc korun, která bude hrazena z rozpočtu hlavního města Prahy.

3.6.2014 — Vytříbeně a s originalitou se rozloučí jeden z klíčových orchestrů české hudební scény, PKF – Prague Philharmonia, se svou jubilejní 20. koncertní sezonou. Poté, co ve čtvrtek exceloval na prestižním festivalu Pražské jaro, posluchačům v rámci svého závěrečného koncertu naservíruje díla čtyř autorů, která jsou spojována s opojnými tóny jazzu. Hvězdou slavnostního večera, který těleso pořádá ve středu 4. června od 19.30 hodin ve Dvořákově síni Rudolfina, se stane proslulý saxofonista Philippe Portejoie, jenž je považován za jednoho z největších světových interpretů hry na saxofon. V čele orchestru se představí charismatický a mezinárodně uznávaný dirigent Leo Hussain a pod svou taktovkou upomene skladatele věhlasných jmen; Rudolfinum tak prodchnou melodie Bohuslava Martinů, Jacoba Ter Veldhuise, Jacquese Iberta a Daria Milhauda.

20.6.2020 — The weekend of the 21st and the 22nd of June will be dedicated to large African mammals in Prague Zoo. World Giraffe Day celebrations and a baby elephant christening will take place here. World Giraffe Day falls on the 21st of June, the longest day of the year, but it will be celebrated in Prague Zoo on Saturday, the 20th of June, this year. The Giraffe Conservation Foundation, who announced this day, protects and monitors these incredible mammals in the wild. Zoos celebrate giraffes on this day all around the world.

30.11.2019 — Actions to help homeless people survive the freezing weather are starting to take place in Prague this winter. Unlike in previous years, the city is allowing people with dogs to stay warm at night, whereas they were previously refused in dormitories. There are also more facilities available for those with health issues. The municipal police are taking part in the winter measures along with the social services.

5.9.2019 — From the 6th to the 8th of September, Prague will host the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup finals. The series of top-class canoe slalom races will culminate at the artificial canoe slalom course in Troja, along with the Extreme Canoe Slalom CSLX World Championships 2019.

7.6.2023 — Tři dny plné kultury, odborných přednášek a mezinárodní spolupráce. To je festival Prague meets Vienna, jehož cílem je posilovat vztahy a spolupráci mezi Prahou a Vídní. Akce se uskuteční od 8. do 10. června na Mariánském náměstí a dalších místech v Praze. Veškerý program je pro veřejnost přístupný zdarma.

12.9.2022 — Náplavka na Hořejším nábřeží a dalších více než dvacet míst v Praze se od 15. do 19. září 2022 stanou dějišti mezinárodního festivalu performance a video artu Re-connect Art, pořádaném Nadací Prague Biennale. Festival skrze intervence do veřejného prostoru rozšíří kulturní nabídku metropole o jedinečnou vrstvu a široké veřejnosti umožní setkání se světovým uměním.

8.6.2020 — Darwin Crater, the long-awaited habitat for Tasmanian and Australian fauna, including Tasmanian devils, has finally opened in Prague Zoo. The new exhibition is named after the area in Tasmania which was created by a fallen meteorite. The circular shape of Darwin Crater in Prague Zoo, which is the centre of the habitat, depicts the crater in Western Tasmania.

16.6.2019 — At the beginning of May, two rare Chacoan peccary piglets (called Wagner's peccary in Czech from their scientific name Catagonus wagner) were born in Prague Zoo. Now visitors can see them with their parents in outside enclosure at the top of the zoo. This is a great zoological event: the Chacoan peccary has existed since prehistoric times and was only known from archaeological evidence until the 1970s.

22.5.2020 — Following in the footsteps of great cities such as Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, New York and Berlin, the city of Prague is planning to create more public space for pedestrians. The first new pedestrian zone will be created in part of the Smetanovo Embankment ('Smetanovo nábřeží'). Car traffic towards Křížovnické Square near Charles Bridge will go through Divadelní and Karoliny Světlé streets instead.

10.2.2019 — This year, the capital plans to continue renewing the quays. The Prague Councillor for Property, Jan Chabr, wants to support more public events for children and families, during the winter as well as the summer. For example, on Saturday 2nd February, traditional farmers' markets will start on Rašínovo nábřeží quay. Jan Chabr would like to see similar events take place.

17.4.2012 — Rada hlavního města Prahy dnes schválila přidělení finančních prostředků ve výši 17 610 000 Kč formou daru na partnerství hl. m. Prahy při pořádání sportovních akcí v roce 2012. Výbor pro výchovu a vzdělávání Zastupitelstva hl. m. Prahy doporučil finanční pomoc vybraným projektům na svém včerejším zasedání.

9.5.2008 — V Praze se koná 14. ročník Prague International Marathonu. Poprvé v historii závodů mají firemní štafetové týmy možnost rozběhnout se 11. května po celé maratonské trati v délce 42,195 km. První členové štafet budou startovat v neděli 11. května s nejlepšími maratonci světa.

27.4.2016 — Hlavní město uspořádalo konferenci s názvem Smart Prague, kde primátorka Adriana Krnáčová představila společně s odborníky na problematiku Smart Cities plány Prahy v této oblasti.

17.7.2012 — Rada hlavního města Prahy na dnešním zasedání schválila novou Dohodu o pořádání prestižních akcí Prague International Marathon do roku 2015. Pod tímto názvem probíhají v hlavním městě již sedmnáct let úspěšná sportovní klání jako jsou Klasický maraton, Juniorský maraton, Rodinný běh a City Běh, Závody na In-line bruslích, ½ maraton a běhy Grand Prix pro muže na 10 km a pro ženy na 5 km. Návrh dohody byl radě předložen z důvodu vypršení platnosti původní dohody mezi Hlavním městem Prahou a společností Prague International Marathon, s.r.o. (PIM).

22.4.2024 — Prague Bike Fest 2024 nabídne o víkendu 27. a 28. dubna nabitý program.

20.10.2019 — Prague plans to expand the collection of plant-based bio-waste. Citizens who recycle bio-waste will save money. Bio-waste of plant origin currently accounts for up to 40% of mixed municipal waste in the Czech metropolis.

28.2.2020 — Prague City Council has recently approved for the city of Prague to participate in the organisation of the 1st International Congress for the Governance of AI (ICGAI/ Prague 2020). The subject of the congress will be the regulation and ethics of artificial intelligence.

Pomocí virtuální reality přenese zájemce do Prahy blízké budoucnosti, oproti minulému ročníku představí i plán na další rozvoj Prahy. Projekt FutureCity vzniká ve spolupráci pořadatelů festivalu s Magistrátem hl. m. Prahy a pěti městskými společnostmi.

23.4.2020 — The Art Parking project will be launched in two locations in Prague on Friday the 24th of April. Art Parking is a multi-genre festival that aims to offer dozens of theatre performances, concerts, and film screenings from now until the end of June.
