Tourism in Prague in the first quarter of 2026

Prague remains a popular tourist destination even during the winter months.
In the first quarter of 2026, the capital was visited by 1.7 million tourists, of which 77% – or 1.3 million people – were foreign tourists. Domestic tourists numbered roughly 385 000. Compared to last year, the total number of visitors increased by 4.7%.
At the same time, Prague’s accommodation facilities recorded 3.8 million overnight stays, which represents year-on-year growth of 7%. The year got off to its strongest start in the past fifteen years, both in terms of visitor numbers and overnight stays.
The most foreign tourists came from Europe, the largest group being the Germans (178 100), followed by tourists from Great Britain and Northern Ireland (117 700) and Italy (99 800).
