New parterre in front of the Šlechta Restaurant in Stromovka

A new parterre, an ornamental garden, has been created in front of the Šlechta Restaurant following the overall reconstruction of an area in Stromovka where a pond used to be. Stromovka, a former medieval game reserve, is the largest green space in Prague, with an area of 95 hectares.

“The oval flower bed in front of the Šlechta Restaurant is designed according to a flowerbed pattern in the First Republic period. It is a carpet-like flower bed with the planting of annuals in the form of an ornament based on a historical model. The flower beds west of the former rock garden are designed according to current trends,” Petr Hlubuček, Prague Deputy Mayor and Councillor for the Environment, said.
