Dear Praguers,

Ing. Martin Trnka, ředitel Magistrátu hlavního města Prahy.

Are you wondering how to celebrate Easter in the city? Here are some tips for events:

This year’s traditional Easter market in the Old Town Square starts on 16th March and lasts until 7th April. This is where you can buy a traditional range of products, such as decorated eggs, Easter sticks or bakery products. Every afternoon, you can listen to the sounds of children’s choirs and there is a special programme prepared for children, including Easter workshops and a little zoo.

Other Easter markets are held in Wenceslas Square, náměstí Republiky, Anděl, náměstí Míru and Jiřího z Poděbrad Square.

An interesting programme takes place in Ctěnice Chateau: I recommend its Easter workshops and demonstrations of traditional crafts on Saturday 23rd March and a concert by Chorea Bohemica one day later.

The centre of ecological education Toulcův dvůr invites everyone for an Old Czech Easter Fair on 16th March and on Monday 25th. Easter will be celebrated on the farm, where children can learn about traditional customs.

The House of Children and Youth opens for the smallest ones: they can learn to make Easter decorations at Klamovka on 23rd March and five days later also in Karlínské Spektrum, where the programme is supplemented with a theatre performance.

For invitations to other Easter events, visit www.velikonocevpraze.cz, where there is something for everyone.

I wish you a beautiful spring and a nice Easter.
