The adventure park on Libeňský Island reopens for the summer

'Lanové centrum Loděnice Vltava', the popular adventure park operated by Prague's Youth Centre, is reopening after the winter break on the 7th of April.

As the days are becoming longer, brighter and warmer, we can start enjoying outdoor activities again. If you are not afraid of heights, the activity park on Libeňský Island might just be the right place for you. Even if you are afraid of heights, the park’s team of well-trained instructors will help you overcome the obstacles as well as your fear. Did you know that approximately 10% of the population suffer from a fear of heights, and that twice as many women as men are afraid of heights?

Obstacles up to eight metres above the ground

The gate of the adventure park in Loděnice Vltava (Vltava Boat Club) on Libeňský Island will reopen on Sunday, the 7th of April 2019. There are both high-rope structure and low-level challenges in the adventure park. On the low-rope structures, participants can gain confidence moving above ground-level, before trying to overcome the eight-metre-high challenges. Participants have to be at least 10 years old and the minimum height requirement is 120 cm tall. Younger visitors to the Boat Club cannot climb on the ropes, but they can enjoy boat rides.

Boats, ropes and ‘špekáčky’

The team from the adventure centre and the water sports instructors will be expecting visitors of all ages on Sunday. The water sports crew will be teaching the basics of boat control, and giving boat rides to small sailors. There will also be the roasting of ‘špekáčky’, a traditional Czech sausage that everyone roasts over an open fire. The adventure centre is located in the Loděnice Vltava (Vltava Boat Club), which belongs to Prague’s Youth Centre.  It was first opened in 2003 and you can find it on Libeňský Island on the Vltava River, a seven-minute walk from the Libeňský most tram stop.
