Become an expert in astronomy!
Prague Planetarium and the Štefánik Observatory commence another two-year course in astronomy. Those who complete the course successfully will have an opportunity to work in the Astronomy Club of the Štefánik Observatory. The two-year astronomical course has been held for over 50 years and offers the participants basic knowledge of modern astronomy along with knowledge of the night sky and the basics of working with astronomical instruments.
Exploring the universe
Over the duration of the course, you will learn a lot of valuable information not only about the planets of the solar system and about the stars, such as what makes them shine and about their ‘life cycle’ from the beginning to the end, but also practical information on how to choose the right telescope and how to observe the sky. You will also learn about the creation of our universe.
“Last but not least, you will meet people who have the same interest and want to discuss the universe, observe and explore it. The course is suitable for people of all ages. We assume that the participants would have completed their primary education, however, it is not a condition,” the organisers explain.
Distance learning course
Due to the COVID 19 situation, you can avail of the option to participate in the course from the safety and comfort of your own home. All the necessary studying materials, such as, for example, video recordings of the past lessons, presentations, and additional texts, will be ready to download on the course website.
Experts will be ready to help you with any problems you may encounter, and consultations will be available either via e-mail or in person
At the completion of the course you will receive a certificate. Do not miss the opportunity to become an expert on the sky and the stars!
