Traffic restrictions on Vinohradská Avenue
On Saturday, the 9th of March 2019, the reconstruction of the tram line on Vinohradská Avenue will begin on the stretch from Škrétova Street to Sudoměřská Street. The expected completion date is the 12th of July 2019. Trams will not operate in the I. P. Pavlova - Muzeum - Flora section, and buses will provide alternative routes. Road traffic will only be maintained in the direction from the city centre from Legerova Street to Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. In the next part of Vinohradská Avenue, as well as in the direction to the city centre, the following diversions and alternative routes are proposed:
● coming from the city centre
- From Jiřího z Poděbrad Square, there are two options available: via Ondříčkova Street in the direction to Žižkov and via Korunní Street in the direction to Vršovice,
● going to the city centre
- From Flora via Slezská Street continue through to Legerova Street,
- From Jiřího z Poděbrad Sqaure to Legerova Street, traffic will be allowed through via Mánesova Street
Information on traffic on Vinohradská Avenue will be available on large-scale displays in the greater Prague area and also on the main motorways, so that drivers can plan in advance and avoid Vinohradská Avenue.
Alternative bus service:
The circular line X11 (in daily operation) will be introduced on the route Náměstí Míru – Vinohradská tržnice – Jiřího z Poděbrad – Vinohradská vodárna – Jiřího z Poděbrad – Vinohradskátržnice – Náměstí Míru.
The Prague Public Transit Co. Inc. (Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy, a.s.) is the investor of this project, and the contractor is RTT Vinohradská (STRABAG Rail, as - EUROVIA CS, a.s.).
