30.7.2019 — From the end of September, a campaign is taking place in the streets of Prague that will focus on the rules and regulations tourists need to follow in the Czech capital. The campaign is organised by Prague City Tourism in cooperation with the Night Mayor Jan Štern. It will focus on the behaviour of tourists in the most problematic parts of the town. Next year, it will be followed up by a long-term campaign that will specifically target tourists, thanks to the results of the STEM / MARK agency's survey on the behaviour of tourists in Prague at night.

29.5.2019 — The 21st international festival, "Prague Heart of Nations 2019", is the largest joint event for minorities in the Czech Republic, bringing a wealth of traditions from nations around the world. From the 30th of May to the 3rd of June, the festival will symbolically take place in the heart of Europe - the historical centre of Prague. Since 1999, musicians, singers and dancers have come to the Czech capital to perform traditional folk art from their native countries. This year, Prague will welcome a wide range of artists once again.

23.3.2009 — Projekt CS MAR je novým projektem, který se zabývá vlivem IT technologií na proces výuky, přínosu Microsoft programů pro tento proces a v neposlední řadě přínosem využití repasované výpočetní techniky ve výukovém procesu. The Battle of White Mountain to be re-enacted at Vypich

18.9.2020 — On the 19th and the 20th of September, a spectacular re-enactment of the Battle of White Mountain (Bitva na Bílé hoře), which was fought 400 years ago, will take place in Prague 6, along with an accompanying programme and a historic market. Hundreds of enthusiasts from all over Europe will take part in the event introducing a dramatic episode of Czech history. The reconstruction of the battle, which was a turning point for the Czech lands, is organised by the Bílá hora 1620 association. The re-enactment, which is one of the largest events of its kind in Europe, aims for the highest level of authenticity possible.

Rare Chacoan peccary offspring in Prague Zoo mean hope for world breeding

16.6.2019 — At the beginning of May, two rare Chacoan peccary piglets (called Wagner's peccary in Czech from their scientific name Catagonus wagner) were born in Prague Zoo. Now visitors can see them with their parents in outside enclosure at the top of the zoo. This is a great zoological event: the Chacoan peccary has existed since prehistoric times and was only known from archaeological evidence until the 1970s.

Women will compete for the European Cup in Judo

27.2.2019 — In the Arena Sparta Podvinný Mlýn in Vysočany in Prague, after two years, women will compete again in Judo for points to qualify for the Olympics at the European Open. The tournament is organised by the Czech Judo Union (Český svaz juda) and will take place on the 2nd of March 2019.

‘Laboratory of Living Sentiments’ at Meet Factory

29.7.2019 — Until the 8th of September 2019, there will be an exhibition of videos, 'Laboratory of Living Sentiments' by the Polish artist Magdalena Lazar in the Kostka Gallery. The themes of the exhibition are sentiments and memories. The artist Magdalena Lazar was born in Poland in 1986. She works with animation, video, photography, installation and objects. Her favourite themes include the present versus the past, the experience of a lot of change over a short period, and initiatives related to a post-growth economy.

17.11.2019 — On the 18th of November, Lakha Khan, the greatest living musician of the sārangī, an Indian instrument, will perform at the Acropolis Palace. He will be accompanied by his son, who holds many music awards.

Nativity scenes from Třešť in Jindřišská Tower

9.1.2019 — The third floor of the Jindřišská Tower is now dedicated to an exhibition of original nativity scenes hand-carved by craftsmen from Třešť, which has become known as the town of nativity scenes. 6.1.2019 — The extensive graphic collection Passion and Guilt by the famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso are on exhibit in Museum Kampa until the 15th of January 2019. The works, which were created in the 1930s, are on loan from the renowned Museo Reina Sofía (Queen Sofía Museum) in Madrid, Spain. They can be seen in the Czech Republic for the first time ever. The cycle is a collection of one hundred works that the artist compared to a diary, reflecting on his extraordinary life story.

TSK announced public contracts for the restoration of Prague´s Libeň bridge

27.10.2020 — Technická správa komunikací hl. m. Prahy (TSK) announced two public contracts for the restoration of Prague's Libeň Bridge, management of the construction and coordination of the entire project. The aim of the first contract is to select a supplier of the construction works and related design and engineering services. The selection process will be carried out in accordance with the FIDIC - Yellow Book conditions (Design & Build project type). The second public contract aims to find a suitable construction manager and project coordinator.

6.6.2022 — Rada hl. m. Prahy v souladu s programovým prohlášením koalice odsouhlasila vstup hlavního města do spolku Otevřená města. Jeho cílem je rozvíjet otevřené fungování veřejné správy, a to zejména samospráv, a zvyšovat povědomí o možnostech digitalizace. Podporuje také pravidelné zveřejňování informací a transparentní rozhodování i zapojování veřejnosti. Materiál bude ještě schvalovat Zastupitelstvo hl. m. Prahy.

One World 2020 documentary film festival resumes

10.9.2020 — One World is an international human rights documentary film festival, which screens over a hundred international documentaries every year. Unfortunately, this year it was suspended mid-festival due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it will resume from the 11th to the 22nd of September, offering the films that were not screened in the spring.
